The University of Arkansas Shotgun Sports Club is raising money to provide each member of our team with a competitive edge as we set our sights on Nationals next semester.

Please consider making a gift by November 22nd and help us spread the word by sharing our project page (https://fundrazor.uark.edu/shotgunsports) on social media!

About Us

The Shotgun Sports Club provides U of A students with the opportunity to compete in a collegiate sport that promotes team building, provides education on gun safety and fosters personal growth. From freshmen to graduate students, we welcome students across campus, from all walks of life and all academic disciplines, to join our club and shoot in a supportive and educational environment.

We focus on the following disciplines: trap, skeet, international trap, international skeet, 5-stand, and sporting clays. The Shotgun Sports Club improves the U of A college experience for each one of our members by providing a way for us to compete, travel and make new friends.

Founded in 2005 by a group of students with a shared passion for shotgun sports, our membership—and success—continues to grow each year. That’s where you come in!

Our Goal

Our goal for the 2019-2020 season is to take our club to the next level of competition! We provide every student with the skillset they need to compete against collegiate teams across the country. We work with our members from the ground up to ensure they have the focus, drive and dedication that is required to win in this sport. With five primary disciplines that drastically vary in difficulty, there is always room to grow and improve.

We provide the environment for our members to go from first-time shooters to award-winning champions but are often limited by funding. Last year, 10 students had the opportunity to compete in the national competition. This year, with the vast growth of our team, we hope for 20 students to have this opportunity.

With your support, we can get the resources and training we need to become national champions.

Why We Need Your Help

While members are responsible for their own shotguns, this sport comes with numerous expenses. From safety gear such as earplugs, glasses and trigger locks to ammunition and practice rounds, the costs add up quickly for our members to even prepare for a competition. The tournaments that our team competes in are held at colleges across the country, with the closest tournament being six hours away. The travel expenses to attend these tournaments add up, especially if we want to attend more than one per semester.

Our biggest shoot, Nationals, is held in the spring semester in San Antonio, Texas at the National Shooting Complex. This tournament is 13 hours away and entry fees alone can cost more than $500 per shooter.

The money raised through this crowdfunding campaign will help support and stabilize our growing team by providing the necessary equipment, travel and training opportunities for our shooters to remain competitive at the collegiate level.

Every dollar counts, and we are grateful for any support we get from personal or corporate donors.

Our Inspiration

This past spring, a Shotgun Sports Club alumnus stepped up to help solidify the future of the program by creating a separate endowment that will provide a consistent, annual base of support. We’re so thankful for this generosity and were inspired to hold this crowdfunding campaign to raise additional operational funds for the current season.

All donations made to our campaign will make an immediate difference by providing equipment, competition and training opportunities as we prepare for Nationals. This support will enable our team to be an active competitor for the 2019-2020 school year against other schools across the nation.

Thanks in advance for your support and Wooo Pig Sooie!
