Hello Donors,
We are pleased to be writing and sharing this great update on the 9K for the K9’s initiative. As a result of your generous contributions, the UAPD was able to purchase a bite suit. Why a bite suit?? Training of course! The UAPD K9 crew endure many hours of focused training. Training with a bite suit allows for officers to act as decoys as they work with the dogs providing them with an important level of protection and teaching proper targeting to the dogs. This is all possible because of you! Our FundRAZOR project this past May exceeded the original goal of $9000 and continued on to reach $10,530.00. As a result, we have purchased the bite suit and invite you to join us as we debut the suit at Whataburger in Fayetteville at 1956 M.L.K. Jr Blvd. on February 7th at 6:00PM. Thank you for your support and we hope to see you at the event!
Best,
UAPD
We are so humbled we have great donors such as you that enabled us to surpass our goal! Through these gifts, we were able to raise 117% of our original goal. Your contributions will be used to purchase a new bite suit for our K9's as well as help us further our community outreach programs which are important to us.
Thank you for helping us during the past thirty days during our fundrazor because there is no way we could have done it without special people like you. If you missed the chance and would still like to make a donation to our department click here.
Again, thank you for your support in helping us continue to provide excellent law enforcement service and community outreach.

The K9 unit covers a lot of ground on their paws—25 average miles a week!
Each routine veterinarian visit costs $40 (times four…well, you get the picture).
Our K9s consume more than 100 pounds of dog chow per month. “Bone” appétit!
...literally! We drive 226 miles round trip to ensure our poochie partners’ choppers stay in good health.
Leah, Orry, Dingo and Oakley work like dogs for at least 420 hours each football season to perform sweeps of Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium.
These special law enforcement officers train for a total of 768 hours each year. That’s a lot of K9 continuing ed!
Our amazing K9 program began in 2009 and has developed into one of the most respected units in the nation.
