One Day, One U of A is COMING SOON! Come back on April 10, 2025 to make your donation!
Time, distance and life demands can derail a person’s educational goals. By reaching students on their terms, online education can help them overcome those barriers. Your gift to the W.E. Manning Memorial Scholarship fund can help lift another barrier – cost.
The Manning Scholarship is the only scholarship program focusing on students studying in online undergraduate and graduate U of A degree programs. U of A online students are unique. Data from academic year 2023-2024 for online students show
Scholarships
In the 2024-2025 academic year, the Manning Scholarship helped 31 online students (25 of them in Arkansas) pay for the cost of their online degree programs offered by the Dale Bumpers College of Agricultural, Food and Life Sciences; the Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences; the Graduate School and International Education; the Sam M. Walton College of Business; the College of Education and Health Professions; and the College of Engineering. In the last academic year, 1,318 students earned degrees and certificates after studying online (8,951 in the last 10 years).
W.E. Manning Memorial Scholarship
The U of A Global Campus established the Manning Scholarship in 2018 to honor William Ellis Manning Jr., a leader in continuing and distance education at the U of A. The work Manning and others did in the 1980s and 1990s set the foundation for what has become the Global Campus today. It supports U of A colleges and schools in the development and delivery of online, distance and workforce education programs and courses.
This donation level honors the seven academic colleges and schools that develop and teach online degree programs. (The Dale Bumpers College of Agricultural, Food and Life Sciences; the Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences; the Sam M. Walton College of Business; the College of Education and Health Professions; the College of Engineering; the Graduate School and International Education; and the School of Law.)
This donation level honors students seeking master’s degrees online (at least 30 credit hours). Many students who receive Manning Scholarships are working adults seeking advanced education from the U of A.
This donation level honors the commitment the U of A makes to providing educational access to ALL 75 counties across Arkansas. Online students can earn U of A degrees while working and living in their home counties.
This donation level honors students in the academic year 2023-2024 who earned 1,318 degrees and certificates from the U of A after studying online (8,951 in the last 10 years).
