Name a Squirrel of Old Main Lawn

344 people have named our squirrels and $9,780 has been raised to support campus initiatives!

Thank you from the squirrels of Old Main Lawn!

March 11, 2025
It’s me—Maple, your favorite fluffy-tailed friend from Old Main Lawn—scurrying into your inbox with some paws-itively amazing news! Because of you and 344 other generous donors, the Name a Squirrel of Old Main Lawn campaign was an overwhelming success!

521 squirrels now have names!
344 people from 30 states named squirrels (54% from right here in Arkansas!)
Nearly $10,000 raised, to support 25 areas across campus.

The Land of Opportunity Scholarship was the biggest beneficiary, helping students overcome financial barriers to success.

As a pillar of the university’s 150 Forward Strategic Plan, student success is at the heart of our mission. Right now, students with high financial need graduate at rates 18 points lower than their peers. The Land of Opportunity Scholarship is designed to help close that gap—ensuring every Razorback, no matter their background, has the resources to complete their degree. Your simple act of naming a squirrel makes a lifetime of difference for those who need it the most.

This effort is unprecedented at the U of A, and its success depends on all of us—alumni, friends, students, and even a few campus squirrels!

Oh, and We Found Your Squirrel!
