The Land of Opportunity Scholarship was the biggest beneficiary, helping students overcome financial barriers to success.
As a pillar of the university’s 150 Forward Strategic Plan, student success is at the heart of our mission. Right now, students with high financial need graduate at rates 18 points lower than their peers. The Land of Opportunity Scholarship is designed to help close that gap—ensuring every Razorback, no matter their background, has the resources to complete their degree. Your simple act of naming a squirrel makes a lifetime of difference for those who need it the most.
This effort is unprecedented at the U of A, and its success depends on all of us—alumni, friends, students, and even a few campus squirrels!
Oh, and We Found Your Squirrel!
And before I scamper off, here are some of our favorite and most creative squirrel names from this campaign:
Dave Van Acorn
Squirley Temple
Coach Cashewpari
Lord RazorMaple of The Hill
Arkansquirrel
The Nutorious B.I.G.
The Nutty Professor
My Main Squeak
Tusk McNutter
Woo Pig Scurry
Thank you for making history, one squirrel at a time! Your generosity is making a real impact—on campus, in our trees, and most importantly, in the lives of U of A students.
With endless tail twitches of gratitude,
Maple the Squirrel
Official Nut Collector & Campus Cheerleader
P.S. If you spot your squirrel on campus, be sure to say hi—just look for the fluffiest tail and the proudest little acorn hoarder!
