Thank you so much for your generous donation to the University of Arkansas’ Waterski Club last year! Your donation helped us surpass our goals and grow as a team and as individuals. The waterski community is more than a group of athletes simply practicing and competing. We are a family. From our team in Arkansas to teams across the country, we all work together to better ourselves in ways outside of skiing, including leadership, team work, and resilience. Your contribution to the club allowed us to remain in this community. We greatly appreciate you and your support!
This past year, we were able to buy new equipment, fund travel and housing for tournaments, and pay for entry fees for skiers in tournaments. A unique aspect of our club is that we do not require athletes to have their own equipment because it can be quite expensive. This past year, we were able to purchase a new trick ski for the team with the help of your generous donation. With the team growing and athletes improving, more and better ski equipment will have to come, so thank you! Along with equipment the club pays for our athletes to travel across the country to ski in tournaments. We ski against the top ranked teams in the country, requiring us to travel from Arkansas to schools in south Texas and Louisiana. With this comes eight plus hour travel days plus two to four night hotel stays for every athlete on the team. The funds raised via FundRazor last year, allowed us to attend four tournaments. We placed fourth at regionals and fourth at Division Two Nationals! Also, we had two athletes take home multiple individual medals at the National Tournament, including Women’s Overall Skier! Ultimately, without your generous donation last year, we would not have been able to develop into the team we are today.
Our goal for this upcoming season is to continue growing as a team and improving ourselves every single day. To continue being a part of the water ski community, we ask if you would consider donating to our club again this year.
We are looking forward to having an excellent upcoming season, and we hope to continue bettering ourselves as athletes and individuals in the community. Thank you for your support of the team in the past! We appreciate everything you have helped us accomplish, and we hope to accomplish more as this next season begins. Thank you in advance for your support!

With our fundRazor complete, we want to extend our heartfelt thanks to all of the wonderful people who offered their support to the Waterski Club. We couldn't have done it without you, and because of your donations, we will be able to afford new equipment and have funds for travel this coming fall season. A special thanks to our alumni who know first-hand how difficult fundrasing can be and contributed significantly to the cause. We are so thankful that we were able to reach our goal, and can't wait to see what will come next!
THANK YOU!!
-U of A Waterski Club
With our FundRazor coming to a close, we wanted to send out a final, heartfelt thank you to all of our donors. We couldn't have done this without you. Your donations will enable us to attend tournements next season without worry of paying for gas/lodging as well as allowing us to update much needed equipment. The sport of waterskiing is such a fantastic community that encourages collaboration, comradery, and friendship, with this FundRazor being a testament to that. We sincerely appreciate everyone who donated and shared the link to friends and family, and we ask that with one day left, you help us push to the finish line and share with anyone you think may be willing to contribute to the sport of collegiate waterskiing. Again, thank you so much. We will share our travels and what we decide to purchase on our social media at @uark_waterski if you want to follow our future journey.
Sincerely,
Claire Meara, President
Week one of the FundRazor for the Waterski Club is complete, and with that being said, all of our donors deserve a HUGE thank you. Shoutout to the multiple alumni who have given to our club, as well as many family members and friends. This amount of money will help to fund our fall season and assist in paying for gas to travel to tournements, help our team purchase a new trick ski, and so much more.
If possible, please continute sharing the link to our FundRazor, as it is still open unti May 3rd! Try to send to other friends and family who you believe may feel inclined to make a gift to the Waterski Club. We are just over halfway to our goal!
Thank you all once again!!! Have a great weekend and Woo Pig!
Example of miscellaneous items we need as a club are chairs, ez up tents, ice chests, and other tournament essentials to keep us healthy and ready to ski.
This donation will help cover the average cost of entry fees for a member. Typically, the club covers these fees for members, which can add up quickly. Your donation will reduce that burden on the club.
Our team bindings are either torn, zip tied, or straight unusable, and we need to purchase new boots to replace the unusable ones. Your donation will help cover costs such as this and ensure our team has what we need to compete!
As with any private ski lake, it is expensive to get lake time, pay for gas, and maintain the boat. We can’t be successful without regular practice and your donation helps fund that!
Skis are our second most expensive cost. New jump skis can cost $3,400, slaloms around $1,500+, and trick skis $1,000. Your donation will help us cover some of the costs associated with purchasing new equipment.
When we compete at tournaments, our skiers need vests, gloves, and club jerseys. We want to show our team spirit while we’re on the water, and your donation will help us represent the U of A!
Our biggest expenses associated with travel are gas and hotel costs due to the significant distance most tournaments are from Fayetteville. With your donation, we will be able to fund our essential expenses and defend the Razorback name.
This past year, we left NCWSA nationals as the 18th ranked team, a 32-place jump from our rank in 2019. Our goal this year is to go to nationals and move to an even higher NCWSA ranking and your donation will help get us there.
