It's Homecoming week here on the Hill, and we hope you'll enjoy this quick update about the digitization project you're making possible!
We welcomed hundreds of students back to the Lewis E. Epley Jr. Band Building this week for the start of the spring semester. With this new beginning, we want to look back and thank you for your gracious support of the Razorback Band Archive Project. Through these gifts from alumni and friends of the program, we were able to raise 131 percent of our original goal. The process of preserving decades of Razorback Band performances can now begin thanks to your support. The digitization of these recordings will take 12 to 18 months to complete. We will keep everyone updated as we move closer to finishing this first step in the archival process. Again, thank you for your continued support of the Razorback Band.
Thanks to so many alumni and friends, we have met our goal with two days to spare! In the next two days, we have the opportunity to stretch our goal to help digitize recordings from 1964 to 1977. Let’s support preserving 14 more years of Razorback Band history by reaching $10,000 in donations!
You can now give a shout out to your favorite section in the Razorback Band when you make a donation. The section with the most donations over the next two days will have $500 donated in their honor.
Wow, it took less than 12 hours to meet our $1,000 matching challenge! Thanks to your generosity, we’ve raised over 60% of our goal. Now, we have another challenge from a Razorback Band supporter. This time a $1,000 gift will be unlocked when we reach 100 individual donations. No matter what amount, each gift will get us closer to unlocking another $1,000 to help preserve Razorback Band history. Join in and let’s finish this project strong!
We're almost halfway to our goal! Thank you to everyone who has supported preserving this important part of Razorback Band history. Starting today, a Razorback Band supporter has promised to match every donation dollar for dollar up to $1,000. We hope you join the campaign and double your impact as we push toward our goal.
A big thank you to those who have already given and pushed us to over a quarter of the way to our goal! We will need everyone’s help as we head toward hitting the halfway mark, but before we march forward we want to share something special.
Here is a RMB performance from 1985 at War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock. You may notice the picture is a bit blurry. Another great aspect of digitizing this collection is the possibility to enhance the quality of the videos. We hope you enjoy this quick look from the RMB’s past.
The current weekday rehearsal home for the Razorback Marching Band is Lot 56. During marching season, you can find the RMB there rain or shine.
