Join us as we partner with communities in Ghana to share the power of health education!
Our team of 15 nursing students is both excited and grateful to go to Ghana for a Study Abroad Service Learning adventure! We are going to the poorest area of Ghana not only to serve and educate people in several villages, but also to work in two local clinics to learn about tropical illnesses. This will be the third year for the Eleanor Mann School of Nursing (EMSON) to lead this study abroad program. We will be going to different villages than visited previously as we expand our impact on the health of the communities. Critical supplies are needed to do the best job we can as we educate others about high blood pressure, malaria, dental hygiene, wound care, respiratory illnesses and other issues. For three weeks, we will be providing education, leading demonstrations and offering assistance with these recognized issues in villages in Bolgatanga.
We would love to have your support as we purchase dental hygiene kits, wound care kits, malaria bed nets, coal cooking pots and flashlights for Ghanaian children. These items are essential for us to be able to effectively demonstrate ways to improve the well-being of the people in these villages in Bolgatanga. Each item serves a vital purpose in either preventing communicable diseases or improving the health of individuals.
We are thrilled to represent EMSON and the University of Arkansas while in Ghana, but we need your help! A donation of any size will help us reach our goal of $5,000. The more support we receive, the more supplies we will be able to purchase and the more opportunities we will have to invest in these communities.
Your gift today will make a difference tomorrow as we work together to improve the health of families in Ghana.
